Just wanted to report some good news. I’ve been doing my best to continue everything in the protocol, and it’s already working. This past week my balance improved to the point where even my wife noticed. It hasn’t been this good since before my diagnosis of MS. My incontinence has improved noticeably as well. I’m very encouraged to see this already. You and your team are a Godsend for our family. I can’t wait to see this continue!
Functional Medicine is personalized medicine. It is a holistic, supportive, patient-doctor partnership approach to healthcare. It is also a science based approached to healing. Our bodies and their organ systems are masterpieces of design. The intricate functions of these systems and the interrelationships as a whole are awesome to consider. As Functional/Integrative Medicine practitioners, we consider the ‘vine’-like connectedness of interactions that occur along nutritional, digestive, detoxification, energy metabolism, hormonal, structural, and immune/inflammatory pathways. We have a very different approach to your health than that of traditional medicine, as we look to treat ‘root’ causes of disease. We can only come to understand the ‘root’ causes of your specific health concerns by taking a very detailed medical history, spending time getting to know and understand you during our consultation, examining your body, and assessing laboratory tests. We not only use Functional Medicine to treat current diseases you are experiencing, we also assess your risk for developing certain health conditions or chronic diseases down the road. We believe that your health is only about 20% inherited by your genes (Genomics) and 80% environmental through your diet and lifestyle (Nutrigenomics). By partnering with you in treatment from the roots to the branches we take a proactive approach to your health rather than a reactive (conventional medicine) approach. You can modify your risk of disease through diet and lifestyle changes.
