Dr. Scott Antoine
DO, FACEP, FMNFM, ABOIM, IFMCP
I am homeschooling mother of four and came to Vine in 2016 in the depths of a debilitating health crisis. I had been suffering from chronic depression, severe irritability, brain fog, loss of memory, lack of energy, irregular cycles, and a growing list of food allergies. As a result of these symptoms, I had mostly lost my ability to relate to other people, including my own family. For over a year our young family had been seeking healing through prayer, detoxification, and the GAPS diet, but had been struggling to see much improvement. In working with Dr. Scott, I learned that I was actually suffering from severe lead poisoning (from a previously unknown source in our well water), mold toxicity (from a previously unknown mold issue in our house), gut dysbiosis, candida overgrowth, and an MTHFR gene mutation. We praise the Lord that since treatment I have made a near full recovery and am able to be the wife, mother, and Christian that I want to be! We are grateful for Dr. Scott’s expertise and even though we live out of state, we have already referred others to him.
Hello Dr. Scott, Just wanted to shoot you a note to say how much I (and my husband) enjoyed finally getting to meet with you face-to-face during our meeting in December. I’m a huge fan of what you and Dr. Ellen are doing at Vine Health. I love the positive less “clinical” approach to health. The articles from Vine Health as well as the recipes you share resonate with me! My conversation(s) with you have been the first time I’ve felt like a doctor “got me” and my approach to achieving and maintaining the best health I can. I feel that I’ve finally found a partner for my health care plan – I’m not one of your younger patients – so this has been a long journey for me. 🙂
If you are here looking at testimonials, you probably aren’t sure if a Functional Medicine doctor can help improve your health issues. I was in the same situation. My traditional care providers treated my health issues with traditional medicine: prescriptions.
However, other healthcare issues were, for the most part, met with a shrug and the usual advice to eat healthily and exercise regularly (which I already was). There was no attempt to determine the underlying cause of these problems.
That changed with my first visit to Vine. I have never experienced an exam that was as thorough, educational and in-depth. I felt that there was a real desire from all the staff at Vine to first determine what the cause (or causes) were and then to determine the best way to get me to where I wanted to be health-wise.
Six months after my first visit, I’ve been able to eliminate the need for a majority of the prescriptions I had been taking for decades. Best of all, the healthcare concerns identified at my first consultation have been resolved. And as a bonus, my BMI has dropped to the point where I am no longer considered obese.
If you are committed to taking the steps and following the recommendations to become a healthier you, it can happen here.

Functional Medicine is a new and exciting specialty that is truly the future of medicine. While rooted in evidence-based medicine, it moves beyond this, focusing on individualized, patient-centered solutions to prevent and treat chronic illness. Emphasis is placed on nutritional therapies, stress reduction, and careful balancing of complex biochemical processes within the body to achieve vibrant health rather than just the absence of disease. Optimization of bioenergetic metabolic processes, protective gene activation, maximization of detoxification, and balancing hormonal cascades is coupled with nutritional counseling, correction of nutritional deficiencies and various integrative therapies that are available in our office at Vine Healthcare®.
Throughout his career, Dr. Antoine has provided training and mentorship to Paramedics and Paramedic students, medical students, Emergency Medicine Residents, Physician Assistant students, and Family Practice residents. In addition, he has lectured on Functional Medicine for the Indiana Osteopathic Association and enjoys speaking to groups both large and small.
